Halloween is over and the holidays are on everyone’s mind. Here are some things you should definitely keep on your list while shopping.
1. Candy- Are you baking for Christmas? Don’t forget M&M’s, Reese’s, Reese’s Pieces, caramels, and other candies that you can incorporate into your Christmas baking. Also, candy can freeze as well. I especially like to freeze plain old Hershey chocolate bars! We use these for smores during the winter.
2. Baking items– Keep an eye out for deals on things like evaporated milk, bread mixes, cake mixes, chips, and brownie mixes, nuts, flour, and sugar. Stock up! Your budget will thank you!
3. Pantry items- Gravy, stuffing, and canned vegetables, soups, broths, etc. all of which can last you throughout the year. Most have long expiration dates.
4. Turkeys– Don’t forget turkeys are discounted or free! Grab one to freeze for a later date.
5. Halloween/Fall Decor– Here is where you will see deep discounts on Halloween decor, costumes, paper goods, and other fall items. Stock up for the next year or think about how you can use the items in another way. Buy plain black or orange plates. Pair with a fancy napkin for another occasion. Costumes can be used for dress up or even birthday gifts for little kids. Also, the last of the fall clearance will be picked over but deeply discounted.
Also, Black Friday is right around the corner and that opens a door for many other sales. Happy shopping!
