During this unique time, parents are finding themselves in a possible unfamiliar role that of being a teacher or at least a teachers’ helper. As an elementary school teacher for over 20 years, I thought it might be helpful to some people to have some additional, independent activities that your kiddos can work on but are worthwhile. So I am posting only activities that are FREE and ones I have personally tried myself. Today I have included an activity that only requires a dice and the printable. My students really liked doing this activity and similar ones. This activity will reinforce blends for both first grade and possibly second grade as well. Click here for the activity.

** One change…I had them roll the dice, choose a word with that blend and then read all words in that row that were already colored in before coloring the new word to practice fluency. By the end they were reading all the words multiple times but it really helped with the skill and fluent reading.
